Every year, some players emerge as unexpected talents, and Gleb Veremyev seems to be one of them this season.

This 21-year-old power forward, playing for the Colorado College Tigers in the NCAA, is increasingly catching the attention of NHL scouts.

Hailing from New Jersey, Gleb Veremyev stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 200 pounds, an ideal build for the NHL.

Currently in his third collegiate season, he has stood out with eight points, including five goals, in just 14 games.

Last season, he finished as his team's second-highest scorer with 28 points, including 15 goals, in 37 games.

Veremyev's performances are not going unnoticed.

Gleb Veremyev: A Target for a Contract with the Montreal Canadiens?

According to journalist Mark Divver, many scouts were present at a recent Tigers game.

His determination is clear: "This summer was about working to reach the NCAA finals and demanding some revenge," Veremyev said after a disappointing 2023-2024 season where his team narrowly missed the Frozen Four.

With his physical abilities and potential, it's no surprise that several NHL teams are interested in his services.

Could he be a possible addition for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens?

If Veremyev continues to impress, he could soon make his NHL debut, becoming a great example of an undrafted player reaching the top.

A case to follow in the market for young undrafted free agents at the collegiate level.
