Jack Eichel is finally breathing a sigh of relief after becoming a member of the Vegas Knights last week. He had been looking forward to leaving the Buffalo Sabres organization for weeks, if not months, as the relationship between the two clans became very strained.
That said, last weekend Eichel arrived at his new home and the 25-year-old generational player realized just how much he was entering another world. He was greeted as a God, which made him stunned, obviously.
Unsurprisingly, the Knights are aware that they have just acquired a big star who can single-handedly change the look of a game. We're talking about one of the best centers in the league, who has accumulated 355 points in 375 games so far. He did this with a moribund team.
We're extremely proud of this addition, but we'll have to be patient since Eichel is not close to being back in action. He could miss another 3, 4 or 5 months before he's back on the ice. He will undergo an operation never done on a hockey player to replace a vertebra.
In short, Eichel already knows where he stands with this excessive welcome! Hahaha!
