Samuel Montembeault is currently on an incredible run. The 26 year old got a nice vote of confidence from his GM in the last few days, as Kent Hughes said he wanted to keep him for the long term.
It is said that a goalie enters his best years around the age of 28, which leaves time for Sam. There is also an interesting comparison between Carey Price and him that shows why his progression is late.
At 26, Carey had 332 games of professional hockey experience, while Montembeault had 185.
We'll have to continue to be patient with Samuel, who could well be the team's future goaltender if he continues to progress like this.
