With the miserable season the Tricolore is having, it's no longer a secret for fans. The Montreal Canadiens organization needs to look to the future and the perfect opportunity to evaluate different options for the future is fast approaching.
It is the World Junior Championship, which should begin, normally, on December 26. Obviously, nothing is certain anymore with the pandemic that has been going on for almost two years.
However, this would be an ideal time for the team's staff to evaluate the organization's prospects who will be playing in this tournament as well as the prospects of other teams in order to possibly acquire them via the transaction market.
It will also be interesting for the organization to re-evaluate the status of Carey Price and Joel Edmundson during the holiday season. This could greatly influence the decisions of the Tricolore's senior management.
Who would you like to see leave for the Habs between now and the trade deadline? Which young prospect would you like to see land in Montreal? One thing is for sure, the status quo is not an option.
