At the 2022 NHL Draft, in the second round and with the 33rd overall pick, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens may have pulled off a smart move by acquiring Owen Beck.

The 19-year-old forward, who plays as a center, has been favorably compared to Shane Wright.

Beck scored 66 points in the 2022-23 season in the OHL, but he especially stood out for his all-around play and his prowess in the face-off circle.

In recent minutes, the official NHL network has focused on him, and it's very encouraging for the future:
