A new goalie has been added to the Montreal Canadiens' roster in the last few minutes,

The management of the Trois-Rivières Lions, the CHL's training club in the ECHL, announced the signing of 26-year-old goaltender David Richer, who was playing in the second division in France this season.

He will start his career with the Trois-Rivières Lions.

A good acquisition! This is a signing directly related to the injury suffered by Cayden Primeau, which led to the recall of goaltender Joe Vrbetic to the Laval Rocket.

The latest news doesn't seem to be good for Primeau, he seems far from a return to play.

As reported by our colleagues at Marqueur, one has to wonder if this signing is worrisome regarding Primeau's health. It could mean bad news in his case.
