Tonight marked the return to action of the Montreal Canadiens' first pick in 2021, Logan Mailloux with the London Knights.
This one served a 26 game suspension due to a sexual misconduct he had in 2020 in Sweden.
The right-handed defenseman made quite an entrance. He was used extensively by his head coach Dale Hunter and saw a lot of ice time on the first penalty kill and on the power play.
Finished his night with 2 points (2 assists) and maintained a +4 rating in a 6-1 win over the Flint Firebirds. He also had five shots on net.
Here's his first OHL point after his shot was deflected by captain Luke Evangelista.
He was sold as a VERY versatile defenseman and he didn't disappoint for a guy who hadn't played in a while.
He had some good "flashes", despite some signs of softness.
One thing is for sure, he looks like a man among boys, with his huge stature at 6' 3" and about 215 lbs.
One aspect of his first game that kept coming up? The power of his shot. According to Grant McCagg, he reportedly has a wrist shot of up to 90 miles per hour. The opposing goalie even lost his helmet on a wrist shot from Mailloux.
Here are the many reactions to his performance:
