We learned a few days ago that the interviews for the nomination of the new Habs general manager will begin shortly.

If Renaud Lavoie had announced the list of nine candidates who would be interviewed, Patrick Roy mentioned Thursday that he still had no appointment scheduled with the Tricolore.

However, our colleagues at Dans les Coulisses, announced that the former CH goalie would have received an invitation for a virtual interview earlier Friday. We do not know if the meeting actually took place.

Among the nine candidates who would be in the running for the job, Mathieu Darche and Marc Denis would be the ones who would have a head start on the other candidates.

The assistant GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Mathieu Darche has gained a lot of experience in the last two years with Julien BriseBois. He is certainly extremely coveted throughout the NHL.

Marc Denis, on the other hand, does not yet have experience as a general manager of a hockey team. However, he is an excellent hockey commentator for RDS, during his analysis of the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge games.

While the Canadiens are currently on a break due to the pandemic, the committee responsible for the nomination of the general manager will meet with the best candidates in the next few days.

It is surprising to see that Darche and Denis are currently the two favorite people. This file is to be followed very closely...
