In his weekly article, journalist Arpon Basu, who has good sources, just revealed some very interesting information.

Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens are finally in serious negotiations with Samuel Montembeault's agent for a contract extension.

Time is ticking and Samuel will be free as a bird next summer. (unrestricted free agent/UFA)

It's likely going to be an expensive contract, especially if Montembeault continues to play this way, but it's surely worth it!

In short, negotiations are officially underway between Kent Hughes and Samuel Montembeault's agent for a new contract.
