The NHL trade deadline is less than two weeks away and therefore, several trades will be announced on social media. (including probably a few involving the Montreal Canadiens)
You will have to be careful and we just had a good reminder.
Before sharing news, and believing in a trade, you must make sure you have a verified and reliable source.
In the last few minutes, as part of the presentation of the game between the Colorado Avalanche and the New York Islanders, they announced, live, a big trade.
The host officially announced the trade of Jeff Petry and Ben Chiarot to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Small problem: they relied on a fake Maple Leafs account. Chiarot and Petry are obviously still members of the Montreal Canadiens organization, they have NOT been traded, but several fans believed it earlier when they heard this news, especially coming from a serious television station.

It must be said, in addition, that the tweet in question (and the photo) are not very credible.
