Caufield could have ended up with another team according to his brother
Last July, Brock Caufield, the older brother of Cole, signed a one-season contract with the Toronto Marlies, the farm team of the Maple Leafs in the American League. After a five-season stint with the Wisconsin Badgers, the 24-year-old forward will thus make the jump to the professionals.
On this subject, Cole gave journalists a good laugh last Saturday when he answered questions about his brother Brock. He publicly threw a nice little jab at him:
"I'm happy for him, but he could have chosen another team!" - Cole Caufield More seriously, the Habs forward was very complimentary towards his elder. He highlights his courage and especially his work while the latter has never been drafted by an NHL team.
"He's really a good guy. He works hard. He's passionate. He always does the right things. He chose a tough city. I'm proud of him." - Cole Caufield
In 36 games last season with the Badgers, the right winger scored 23 points, including 11 goals. He also won the title of his team's most valuable player, the Spike Carlson/Chris Chelios Trophy.
It will be interesting to see Brock's progression over the next few seasons. The goal will certainly be to play in the NHL and thus have the chance to see a duel between the two brothers.
