While everything was going so well for the Montreal Canadiens just a few days ago, things are unfortunately starting to fall apart.

The team is piling up losses, Patrik Laine is making headlines for the wrong reasons (he was benched by Martin St. Louis against the Ducks), the locker room atmosphere seems to be worsening, and that's not even all..

As several experts have reported, it's not talked about as much, but Kirby Dach was also benched by Martin St. Louis yesterday.

«Ice time for Patrik Laine = 10:33
Kirby Dach = 11:57
Only Michael Pezzetta played less than these two.»

Priyanta Emrith

This means that Martin St. Louis punished Patrik Laine and Kirby Dach while the Habs are falling out of the race..

No, things are not going well.

Besides the situations involving Kirby Dach and Patrik Laine, the Canadiens are slipping further away from the playoffs

After the Canadiens' regulation loss in Anaheim, combined with the New York Rangers' win over the Vegas Golden Knights, Martin St. Louis' squad continues to slide in the standings.

Montreal is now just one point away from dropping to 9th and second-to-last place in the Eastern Conference.

This morning, several experts are saying that the playoffs are practically out of reach for the Habs.

What a regrettable turn of events, especially since the playoffs seemed very attainable just a few days ago.

«After a five-game losing streak (0-4-1), the Canadiens are now six points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.»

Stu Cowan

Yes, things are turning sour for the Habs. Despite all this, do you still believe?

Personally, I'm trying to, but it's tough.
