This weekend, a real tragedy occurred in the world of hockey. Former member of the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, Adam Johnson, died from his injuries after being struck by a skate blade in an EIHL game.

The one who delivered the fatal blow, Matt Petgrave, is now at the center of the news. The latter, who incidentally already played for the Laval Rocket in 2018, is currently the subject of several serious accusations on social media.

Out of respect for Johnson and his family, we make it our duty not to post the horrific video of the incident. However, it should be known that Petgrave, during the incident, is accused by many of literally kicking Johnson.

It really hurts to see people making such accusations.

Petgrave's reputation in the EIHL was already not at its best before the event, but that's no excuse.

Yes, he has often been aggressive towards officials and was even ejected from the game on two occasions for abuse towards them, but there are limits.

Some people are having a field day about him on social media and it's going too far.

Whether it was accidental or not, Petgrave must feel pretty bad, to say the least. There's no need to disrespect him by insulting him on social media. He will face the consequences, both psychological and legal (if any). I just hope that the people criticizing him are not supporters of fights in hockey...
