The Habs are off to a rough start this season, but Guy Lafleur doesn't seem too surprised by it. He put his finger on a few things that are wrong with the organization.
"They have a lot of ups and downs. For sure, it's not the same team that played in the playoffs, in the Stanley Cup Final. It's not the same players and it's not the same desire to win, it seems."
The Hab's early season failures could be fatal for them.
"I've always said that the games before the holidays are free points. They're points that are going to be important at the end of the season because after the holidays, the game changes. We don't play the same way."
Lafleur strongly believes that the appointment of a new captain could be a great spark for the team. A very important element in hockey.
"The captain is important to a team and I think the Habs should name one. It's a spark in the room, it's a guy that you give the power to speak inside the room, to speak up to his teammates."
Who would be the number one candidate for the man who was nicknamed the "Blonde Demon"?
"I understand that Shea Weber is injured, but name an interim captain. The guy I see is Gallagher and I've been saying that since the beginning. It's not complicated! It would be felt within the team."
He's a huge fan of number 14 as well. He even made a good prediction about him.
"I think he's a really talented player, he's very involved. He'll read the game constantly, he's always in a good position to score. He's got a way about him of getting away from the opposition. I think he's a guy that's going to have a really, really great career."
