Last Thursday, with a 2-0 win over the Canadiens by the Chicago Blackhawks in Montreal, Marc-André Fleury became the 3rd goalie in history to reach 500 wins. The other two are also Quebecers, Martin Brodeur and Patrick Roy.
Flower's mom was not there because she can't stand the booing when he comes to play at the Bell Centre. However this time it was completely the opposite, he received a standing ovation after this 500th! The Canadiens fans could finally celebrate something beautiful.
He even waved to the crowd as a thank you before officially leaving for the dressing room.
But the grand and unique gesture remains the surprising phone call he made to get a small corner of the Journal de Montréal to thank the fans. Jean-François Chaumont said that he had never seen that before in his career.
Marc-André Fleury is also that! What a man!
