The former Edmonton Oilers player held various roles in recent years with, among others, the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Junior Hockey League and the University of Alberta's hockey team.
However, as reported by the Habsolumentfan.com website, we now have a bit more details about Pisani's arrival within the Canadiens organization.
According to journalist Nicolas Cloutier from TVA Sports, the Canadiens management quietly hired Pisani right after the last NHL draft held in Nashville.
Moreover, his hiring occurred following the departure of scout Matt Turek who found himself in a conflict of interest situation after accepting an interim general manager role with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Since Turek couldn't hold both positions simultaneously, he was replaced by Joey Tenute last fall.
But getting back to Turek, he did an excellent job in recent years and, in fact, we owe him the arrival of a certain Arber Xhekaj with the Canadiens and also the selection of Owen Beck in 2022. Both of these players could very well be a significant part of the team's core when it becomes competitive.
We now wish Fernando Pisani good luck with the Canadiens organization
