For some time now, rumors sending Trevor Zegras to Montreal have been circulating, but now they are more intense with the trade deadline approaching. This time, it's David Pagnotta who confirmed that the Canadiens are interested in the Anaheim Ducks' forward.
Zegras and Cole Caufield are good friends.
They have played together several times with the U.S. national team and still keep in touch today.
According to Pagnotta, a meeting between the two could really be possible.

Zegras has had a tougher season, especially with his knee injury that required surgery in December. In 29 games, he only has 13 points, including 5 goals. In my opinion, he still has huge potential, and Martin St-Louis could really help him bounce back.
Will Kent Hughes try to bring him to Montreal? We'll have to wait and see.

If Patrik Laine isn't the long-term solution for the top-6 in Montreal, or if Kirby Dach isn't, that's where a young player like Trevor Zegras can become very attractive to Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.
Zegras, 23 years old, has accumulated 167 points in 239 career NHL games, including 13 points in 29 games this season.
