The New Jersey Devils have announced that Martin Brodeur has been promoted from his former position on the business side of the team and will now serve as Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations.

For two seasons, 2018-19 and 2019-20, Brodeur served as executive vice president of business development for the New Jersey Devils. His new role will allow him to be more involved in personnel decisions, roster management, transactions, player recruiting and overseeing the goalie development department he created. In addition, and as part of his new appointment, he will also expand his role to include recruiting.

"Working with Tom's (Fitzgerald) group over the past few years, I have seen firsthand what he and our managing partners, David Blitzer and Josh Harris, are building. I've been fortunate enough to help them at this time as we move in the right direction toward consistent and sustained success. This decision allows me to devote all my time to the field hockey team and focus on achieving the ultimate goal for our players, great fans and the entire organization." - Martin Brodeur

"Marty was a tremendous resource for me when I was general manager with his experience, input, foresight and connections in the hockey world. It makes sense to formalize and clarify his roles and responsibilities within the organization. I am thrilled that he has committed to staying with us as we all work to continue to bring New Jersey back to the levels of success Marty achieved here as a player." - Tom Fitzgerald

Brodeur is a franchise icon and arguably one of the greatest goalies in NHL history. This is a great day for the New Jersey Devils organization!
