Canada's Under-20 team named its captain on Tuesday afternoon, and without a doubt, Kaiden Guhle received that letter of nobility.
The Shea Weber 2.0 was a must to get this role, he is seen as a VERY great leader. In fact, he is the one who could carry that title with the Montreal Canadiens (when the time comes) for several years.
That being said, by earning the role of Canada's captain, Guhle has joined Artturi Lehkonen and Jan Mysak, who belong to the Habs, in that category. Lehko was the captain of Finland in 2014-15, while Mysak carried that letter in 2020-21.
Looking further back, Martin Reway, Jacob de la Rose, Yannick Weber, Kyle Chipchura and Eric Desjardins are the names that can boast of having worn the "C" and been drafted by the Montreal Canadiens.
