Could the Montreal Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche make another trade together?
It's quite possible. First of all, it is known that the Avalanche are ravaged by injuries, they are without the services of Valeri Nichushkin, Gabriel Landeskog, Darren Helm and some other forwards.
Also, the defending Stanley Cup champions have lost the services of their second center, Nazem Kadri, who signed with the Calgary Flames this summer.
It makes perfect sense for them to add an experienced forward who can play center. They have holes to fill and they absolutely want to try to win a second Stanley Cup.
According to the excellent informer Pierre LeBrun, for all these reasons, there are currently trade rumors between Montreal and Colorado.
There are three prime candidates for the Avalanche, three clear targets on the trade market:
- Jonathan Toews
- Ryan O'Reilly
- Sean Monahan.
It's interesting that clearly Monahan's value is already on the rise, and he's already starting to be in high demand. We've mentioned this before, but let's remember, what a move by Kent Hughes!
Monahan, 28, has 7 points in 14 games this season. He is making 6.375 million until next summer.
