In the past few minutes, TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie has posted a photo taken this morning of Alex Belzile, and it's clear that his injury is serious.
Ouch. You can see the inflammation, and obviously, the famous protective boot says a lot.
It should be noted that the Habs announced yesterday that Belzile's season is unfortunately over.
He also talked about the sequence in question in a press conference:
Alex Belzile stated that he immediately felt that something was wrong after receiving a powerful shot in the leg during Saturday's game, but it wasn't until after the game, when the adrenaline had dissipated and he removed his equipment, that he realized the extent of his injury
«Alex Belzile says the recovery of his fractured leg will take some time, but the timeline should not have an impact on his summer training to prepare for camp in the fall.»
