Surprise: a young defender suddenly leaves the Montreal Canadiens organization, and he is the new acquisition of the Lions, Andrew Nielsen
Sudden change within the organizational chart of the Montreal Canadiens.
Just as he had signed with the organization, with the Lions of Trois-Rivières, young Andrew Nielsen suddenly leaves the CH organization.
The player, who was a significant acquisition for the organization, the tough 6-foot-4-inch, 225-pound defenseman with solid offensive skills, has suddenly left the organization.
Nielsen changes his mind and leaves the Canadiens' organization to sign another contract in Norway.
A huge disappointment for the Habs' affiliate.
Nielsen, 26, was a 3rd round pick of the Maple Leafs in 2015. He scored 41 points in 47 games (plus 166 penalty minutes) in the ECHL.
He also played in the AHL.
An unusual decision by the defenseman, but we wish him the best of luck in this unexpected new challenge.
