At his recent media availability, Kent Hughes mentioned that he was not looking to move at any cost between now and Monday. However, personnel moves made this Sunday morning suggest that he will be active...
Indeed, the Laval Rocket granted two professional contracts on Sunday, to two defensemen. This suggests that Brett Kulak, Chris Wideman or even Jeff Petry could leave the CH before long.
Mattinen and Cormier will line up with the Rocket and will be ready to jump on the ice in the event that one or more of Laval's defensemen must come up with the CH to finish the season.
During his press conference, Hughes also mentioned that he would be looking to help the Rocket on their way to the playoffs. It will be interesting to see, by Monday at 3:00 pm, which young players he will be able to acquire in order to give Rocket fans their first playoff appearance.
