Even though we've suspected for quite some time that the Montreal Canadiens will not make the playoffs this season, there was still, in theory, a slim chance. (mathematically, anyway)
However, with the points the Washington Capitals got tonight against the Buffalo Sabres, it's officially over.
We can say it, the Habs are now officially out of the 2022 playoffs.
The last Stanley Cup finalist team will not have a chance to repeat this year. On the other hand, with the performances that Martin St-Louis' team has been offering us for the past few weeks, it looks promising for next season.
Do you think the CH will participate in the 2023 playoffs?
