With the start of the All-Star Game festivities in Vegas today, it means we're getting closer to the trade deadline. NHL teams have until Monday March 21 to complete a trade for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.
Among those who are likely on the block, there's Montreal Canadiens defenseman, Jeff Petry, who certainly wants to wear a new uniform by the end of the season. But what would be the Habs asking price for Jeff Petry?
There are reports that Canadiens expectations will be very high. We are talking about a first-round pick plus a "A" type prospect or another pick (likely a second-round).
So it would be a pretty interesting return for the Habs if this were to materialize. Of course, there is still a lot of time between now and March 21. The return could therefore fluctuate over time depending on Petry performance and the availability of similar defenders on the market.
Would you be satisfied with such a return for Petry?
