As reported earlier today, Montreal Canadiens forward Sean Monahan did not finish yesterday's game against the Vancouver Canucks with a right foot injury.
We were waiting for his status for tonight's game, and our fears are confirmed. Monahan is unfortunately injured and may be out for a while. We have just received news on this matter:
"Sean Monahan will not play tonight. He has a lower body injury. His condition will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Montreal." - Montreal Canadiens
And all of a sudden, there are only eleven healthy forwards left:
"Martin St-Louis confirms that the Canadiens will deploy 11 forwards and 7 defensemen tonight against the Kraken.
Jake Allen will be the starting goalie in front of the Montreal cage." - Montreal Canadiens RDS reporter Luc Gélinas added this:
"The club arrives in Montreal tomorrow late afternoon and he will be evaluated by club doctors on Thursday."
