After news came out that the Maple Leafs and William Nylander are no where near close in terms of an extension fans have begun speculating on where the 27-year-old winger will end up.
The Latest Mock Trade
The latest mock trade that has surfaced would send the Calgarian born player to the rival Montreal Canadiens.
Mike Matheson was limited to 48 games this past season but in those games he put up 34 points and a +7 rating on a Montreal team that finished bottom of the Atlantic division.
Jordan Harris is young defenseman that played his rookie year this year apart of the Montreal Canadiens, in 65 games the 22-year-old had 17 points and -3 rating.
Riley Kidney is a young playmaking prospect that tore up the QMJHL last season putting up 110 points in 60 games for both the Gatineau Olympiques and Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
The Leafs would also acquire a 2nd round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
What Nylander Brings
William Nylander has been progressing into a really skilled winger, collecting his first 40 goal season this past season.
He has also been arguably been the best of the core four in the playoffs, collecting 4 goals and 10 total points in 11 playoff games.
Nylander is asking for a contract of at least $10 million in salary.
