Trades made by the Canadiens with the Avalanche and the Blackhawks: Kent Hughes now has three of the top ten players from the 2019 draft
Kent Hughes has often spoken, over the past few weeks, about the highly talented 2019 NHL Draft. He believes that this draft represents one of the best classes in recent years. If that's indeed the case, the Montreal Canadiens are clearly in a very strong position for the future.
Thanks to the trades made by the Montreal Canadiens with the Colorado Avalanche and the Chicago Blackhawks over the last year (and a bit more), Kent Hughes now has three of the top ten players from the 2019 draft on his roster. Wow, that's truly impressive!
According to the results published by the excellent JFReshHockey, with nearly 100,000 votes, here are the top 10 players from the 2019 draft:
It's almost as if the Canadiens had three picks in the top 10 of this highly talented draft (thanks to their trades).
It's safe to say that these are two very profitable transactions for Kent Hughes so far, the ones concluded with Colorado and Chicago.
