Last night, following another Montreal Canadiens loss, this time a 5-0 defeat against the Detroit Red Wings at the Bell Centre, we witnessed a scene that we believe is absolutely crucial for the future of the CH organization.
As you know, the Habs are probably going through their toughest stretch of the season right now. The team is losing, playing poorly, and struggling to score goals. According to many, it's time for the season to end.
Players have every reason in the world to "want peace" and be slightly fed up with answering the numerous questions from journalists in the locker room after games.
But no.
As reported by Priyanta Emrith, last night, two Montreal Canadiens players stood up, and it's beautiful to see.
We love it! In our opinion, that's the good news from last night's game.
When things are going badly and you're out of answers, it's so easy to dodge responsibility, and honestly, at this point, it would be perfectly understandable for the CH players to do so. But no.
Suzuki and Matheson stood firm and gave excellent and lengthy responses. It was beautiful to see, and ultimately, that's exactly what real "leaders" are.
It's when things go wrong that the true leaders rise. Hats off to Suzuki and Matheson! The team is in good hands.
