We're finally here! This Monday, September 11, 2023, marks, after a big and long summer, the start of activities for the Montreal Canadiens, with today seeing the traditional golf tournament.

Already, we've had big news as the organization announced the new assistant to captain Nick Suzuki.

While many thought that Cole Caufield or even Kirby Dach might have had this honor, it's the veteran Mike Matheson who will be wearing the «A» on his jersey this season. Brendan Gallagher, for his part, will also keep his letter.

On a completely different note, it will be a busy day for the young Cole Caufield. He won't even finish the day in Canada.

Indeed, as Renaud Lavoie reported this morning on BPM Sports radio, the young sensation from the Canadiens will be flying to Vegas during the day.

Number 22 will represent the Canadiens in an event where the best players from the league are made available to the media. He will be promoting as well as answering numerous questions from the media. We will certainly hear news from this event as Renaud Lavoie will also be there to cover it.

Caufield's selection makes sense since he recently signed a big contract, and the Canadiens surely wanted to keep captain Nick Suzuki, who represented the Canadiens last year, in Laval-sur-le-Lac for the golf tournament dinner.
