Last night, on TVA Sports, Renaud Lavoie offered important updates on the state of health of two Canadians players, whose returns to play are highly anticipated.

First of all, regarding Edmundson, it has been described as a rather "mysterious" case. We thought he was probably going to play at the start of last week, and in the end, not only was that not the case, but he still hasn't come back yet and has regressed slightly. (changed his jersey from regular to a non-contact jersey)

Lavoie had this to say:

«Joel Edmundson could have played on Saturday, but we thought, at the Habs, that it might not be the best idea to bring him back against the Oilers. He was supposed to play tonight against Vancouver, but he has been wearing a non-contact jersey since yesterday and will not play. It is not good news. I'm told he should finally see some action on Saturday, but if that's not the case, we'll have to start worrying again..." - Renaud Lavoie

It is therefore to be monitored.

As for goaltender Carey Price, remember that on Tuesday, he received shots for the very first time in a very long time and yesterday, it continued!

«Progress again on the side of Carey Price (today) who spent about 45 minutes on the ice in Brossard. - Luc Gélinas

The most recent developments are encouraging, positive and promising. Renaud Lavoie, of TVA Sports, had new information before the game against the Canucks:

"Carey's not doing well just a little...He's doing great!" Today (Wednesday) he received shots in practice and he was on the ice for 45 minutes. We are no longer talking about the small 10-15 minute sessions of a few weeks ago! All of which means that unless the swelling comes back, Carey Price will be playing hockey this year. - Renaud Lavoie

It would be huge. Lavoie continues:

«He has reached another level in his rehabilitation. Previously, his knee was far too swollen for him to go there. The goal, for Carey Price, is to return to the game somewhere in April. We still have time, but Carey really wants to play hockey in April."

Wow, that's very positive! This is the first time in a very long time that a possible return to the game date has been advanced.

Do you believe it?
