One of the key topics today for the Montreal Canadiens, following their mid-season review yesterday, is the health status of star forward Patrik Laine.

Let's recall that he has missed the team's last three games due to what the team has described as "the flu", and yesterday, the Canadiens announced that Laine is still not at 100%.

However, we also learned yesterday that there will be an official update regarding Laine released this morning.

That is what we are now waiting for in the coming minutes.

An Announcement Involving Patrik Laine

Here's what RDS journalist Patrick Friolet reported:

«Patrik Laine laced up his skates. We're told he's still not at 100%. The Habs will provide an update today.»

We're eagerly awaiting this update and hoping Laine can return to full health quickly.

The team is performing really well right now, but it's clear that Laine's return as early as tomorrow would have an immediate positive impact on the team.

Laine, aged 26, standing 6 foot 4 and weighing 208 pounds, has tallied 10 points in 13 games this season with the Habs, including 8 goals.

Also, let's remember that Martin St-Louis' squad is back in action tomorrow at 7:00 PM, against the powerhouse Capitals, live from Washington.

Alex Ovechkin's group currently holds 1st place in the East and 2nd place in the entire National Hockey League, which is truly remarkable.

As for the Canadiens, the team will be looking to regain a Wild Card position to secure a playoff spot.

More details to follow.
