Matthews, 23 years old, hails from Ottawa and is indeed a 6-foot-1, 205-pound right-handed defenseman.
He played 10 games with the Lions in 2023-24 (with a +1 rating), after scoring 8 points in 20 games with Carleton University.
We are talking about a solid defensive defenseman.
Details will follow.
This acquisition adds to that of Tommy Cormier for the Lions, a dynamic young offensive forward with high potential.
