After Patrik Laine, Canadiens Deliver a Second Negative Announcement, And It's Worse Than Expected
It seems that the information revealed yesterday provided better clues regarding the Montreal Canadiens, especially about Patrik Laine and David Savard.
Following today's press conference by Martin St-Louis, we learned that Laine won't even travel with his teammates.
Clearly, he's caught a significant flu, and we hope to see him back at 100% as soon as possible.
However, that's unfortunately not all.
David Savard will also not travel with the team, the Canadiens announce
Even though he practiced with a regular jersey alongside his teammates this morning in Brossard, the veteran defenseman will once again miss tomorrow night's game in Washington.
He won't be there against the Capitals and Alexander Ovechkin.
"David Savard is also staying in Montreal. He's not going to Washington.»
Eric Engels, Sportsnet
And the official confirmation from the Canadiens:
It is still considered an upper-body injury in his case.
«David Savard (upper body) and Patrik Laine (flu symptoms) will not travel to Washington with the Canadiens for Friday night's game against the Capitals.
Both practiced this morning in Brossard and will therefore miss their fourth consecutive game.»
Stu Cowan
Let's also recall that it's young Jakub Dobes who will defend the net for the Canadiens. He'll have quite the challenge against the second-best team in the NHL this season.
More details to follow.
