We have good news for you this morning, live from the Montreal Canadiens' practice in Brossard.

We were, of course, keeping a close eye on updates regarding David Savard and Patrik Laine, especially since yesterday's news wasn't particularly encouraging.

Laine was still not at 100%, and Savard wasn't even in full gear.

Two pieces of good news live from Brossard for David Savard and Patrik Laine

Laine was back on the ice with his teammates, and he seemed to be in top form:

«After missing the last three games due to flu-like symptoms, Patrik Laine is on the ice at the Habs' practice this morning.»

And surprise, the same goes for David Savard:

«After missing the last three games due to an upper-body injury, David Savard is on the ice for practice this morning in Brossard.»

Stu Cowan

A returnee who was highly anticipated at the Montreal Canadiens' practice.

We truly didn't expect him to be back as early as today, but we'll gladly take it.

Let's recall that the last update mentioned an upper-body injury for the Quebec-born defenseman.

The Canadiens have yet to confirm the status of these two players, but things are looking very good for the weekend games, especially for Laine.

Martin St. Louis' squad will face the Washington Capitals on Friday and the Dallas Stars on Saturday.

Details to follow.
