We have some fresh news from the Montreal Canadiens. Martin St-Louis' team is currently in Utah, where they are holding a full practice in preparation for tomorrow's game against André Tourigny's squad.

First, it is worth mentioning that head coach Martin St-Louis will answer reporters' questions in a press conference immediately after his team's morning skate.

Second, please note that forward Alex Newhook is indeed absent today due to flu-like symptoms.

Patrik Laine missed over a week of activity and four games for the same reason, so this will be a situation to keep an eye on.

«Alex Newhook is the latest Habs player to be affected by the flu virus; he will not be practicing today in Utah.»

- Priyanta Emrith

Let's hope it doesn't turn out like with Patrik Laine.

Newhook, 23 years old, is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound forward.

The 16th overall pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2019 (1st round) has accumulated 9 points in 42 games this season with the Canadiens, including seven goals.

He was acquired by Kent Hughes in June 2023, in exchange for Gianni Fairbrother, a 1st-round pick in 2023, and a 2nd-round pick in 2023.

For now, this doesn't seem to be Kent Hughes' best transaction.

Further details to follow.
