Angela Price Shares Heartwarming Story of How She Met Carey 20 Years Ago
Carey Price's wife, Angela Price, just made a special post on her personal page.
She announced that today marks 20 years since she met Carey.
This means they met at the start of the 2004 season, when Price hadn't even been drafted into the National Hockey League yet and was playing for the Tri-City Americans.
No, it wasn't just yesterday!
During the 2004-2005 season, Carey Price played 63 games for Tri-City (in the WHL). He recorded 24 wins, 8 shutouts, while maintaining a goals-against average of 2.34 and a save percentage of .920.
Believe it or not, despite these incredible stats (especially for junior hockey), Carey ended the season with a losing record of 24 wins and 39 losses.
It's safe to say he didn't have a strong team in front of him.
That said, a few months later, he was drafted 5th overall by the Montreal Canadiens, and the rest is history.
A memorable meeting for Carey Price and Angela Price
In her post, Angela mentions that it was one of her friends, Lauren Watson, who introduced Carey to Angela.
She adds that they continued to see each other despite the challenges and warnings from #31's coach.
My friend, Lauren Watson, introduced us, and we went on a 'double date' to Red Robin. I couldn't help but notice his big hands, and I found his Canadian accent very unique.
The next evening, I went to watch his game, and he let in a bunch of goals.
Eventually, his coach came to tell us that we couldn't see each other anymore because I was a distraction.
So, we saw each other in secret, and it added an element of excitement that probably contributed to our long-term commitment to one another. (laughs)"
