BREAKING: Jake Allen has officially been traded
The Montreal Canadiens have finally made a move regarding one of their goaltenders in a trade with a metropolitan team.
After a long season of the Canadiens rotating 3 goaltenders, according to Elliotte Friedman, the goalie carousel has finally moved, with Jake Allen heading to the New Jersey devils.
The Devils finally address their goaltending woes, at least currently. Safe to assume the Devils will address the future of their goaltending in the offseason.
The Canadiens receive a conditional 3rd round pick which can turn into a 2nd round pick depending on games played.
Update
The Canadiens will be retaining 50% of Allen's salary:
Jake Allen must play 40 games for the 2025 third-round pick to become a second-round pick.
