Via an official statement, the Montreal Canadiens organization has indeed called the media for a press conference. After a well-deserved break from media availability yesterday, head coach Martin St. Louis will return today to answer questions from journalists.

We will, of course, closely monitor what happens with defenseman David Savard, who left yesterday's practice in Chicago prematurely.

An update from Martin St. Louis is therefore expected on this matter.

Here is an excerpt from the statement in question.

«The Canadiens will not hold a morning skate.

However, St. Louis and a few selected players will address the media around 12:45 PM ET.

For updates, check the Montreal Canadiens' X account, and take a look at the Club's social media shortly before puck drop for the full lineup.»

If David Savard ends up being absent, expect a promotion for a young player like Jayden Struble.

Tonight's game will be particularly interesting, as Martin St. Louis' squad could move to within one point of a playoff spot with a victory.

It will also be a special matchup for Kirby Dach, who will face his brother Colton, who has just been inserted into the Hawks' lineup.
