The young defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens, Lane Hutson, could achieve something special as early as today. As Martin St-Louis's squad faces the Chicago Blackhawks starting at 8:00 PM, this will be a game where young Hutson could indeed hit an important milestone.

Normally, NHL players receive their performance bonuses at the end of the season or, at the very least, closer to the end of the campaign.

However, since nothing is normal with Lane Hutson, it's worth noting that he could actually earn a significant performance bonus today.

Yes, already!

A $250,000 assist bonus for Lane Hutson today?

As reported by the following account:

Number 48 of the Canadiens is just one assist away from earning a $250,000 reward, even though it's only January.

This speaks volumes about his exceptional rookie season, which has been much more productive than expected.

«Lane Hutson is 1 assist away from a $250,000 performance bonus.

He currently has 24 assists.

This will help him pay for that dinner. (for his brother, Cole Hutson)

If he keeps up this pace, Lane will easily earn all $750,000 of his potential performance bonuses this season.»

This was in response to the following post:

So, keep this tidbit in mind if Hutson happens to record an assist tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Hutson, 20 years old, has 26 points in 37 games this season (2 goals and 24 assists).
