The Canadiens' goalie situation is stirring up conversations, especially concerning Cayden Primeau.

Several experts unfortunately believe that Kent Hughes should place Primeau on NHL waivers.

Towards the end of his press briefing today, head coach Martin St-Louis was specifically asked (and accepted to answer) about Primeau.

A Statement from Martin St-Louis on Cayden Primeau

Here's what he said:

«It's always difficult to pull a goalie, you know. Goalies are more than just players; they're human beings, and you know that it's a very tough feeling for him. So, as a head coach, you never like to pull a goalie, but you just have to trust your instincts and do what's best for the team at the moment you make the decision.»

- Martin St-Louis

We can sense that Martin doesn't want to give up on Primeau too quickly and that the organization wants to be careful not to affect the 25-year-old goaltender emotionally.

Primeau has a save percentage of .845 this season, with a goals-against average of 4.67 and only one win. In his career, he has an average of 3.63 and a save percentage of .887.

Official Announcement from the Canadiens for Tomorrow's Starting Goalie

Speaking of goaltenders, the Montreal Canadiens announced that Samuel Montembeault will be in net against the Minnesota Wild tomorrow night.

The game will be at 8:00 p.m.

Cayden Primeau will have to wait before trying to redeem his tough performance on Monday in Buffalo and get his season back on track.
