We're talking about an announcement that could impact the ice time and responsibilities of some young defensemen for the Montreal Canadiens, such as Logan Mailloux, Adam Engstrom, William Trudeau, and potentially David Reinbacher.
The Laval Rocket has just lost an excellent veteran for the remainder of the season.
Bad luck continues to strike Josh Jacobs:
This will obviously impact nearly all the defensemen in the organization.
Here's the sad official confirmation:
We sincerely wish him a speedy recovery and, most importantly, hope he returns to 100% as quickly as possible.
At 28 years old, Joshua Jacobs is a right-handed defenseman standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 223 pounds.
He is a second-round pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2014, and he finishes his season with 5 points in 26 games with the Laval Rocket. (14 penalty minutes and a positive plus-minus of +3)
Other defensemen will now indeed have to take on more responsibilities.
Jacobs also had some NHL experience and was an excellent mentor, especially for Engstrom and Mailloux.
This is a big blow for the Rocket here.
Further details will follow.
