This is very interesting regarding two of the Montreal Canadiens' summer acquisitions.
In the last few hours, we were just talking about the young Owen Protz, who seems to be quite a physical specimen.
Well, this time, it was Protz's (the Canadiens' 4th round pick in 2024) turn to talk about another summer acquisition of the Canadiens.
Indeed, there are more and more positive comments about Hage.
In an interview with Grant McCagg and Shayne Gaumont, Protz had much to say about the Canadiens' second first-round pick in 2024 (21st overall).
What were his first impressions of Michael Hage when he saw him play?
"The things I hope to be able to do are what I first thought of him."
- Owen Protz, who added that he was simply blown away by Michael Hage's talent
We are not ready for the quality of player he is.
"He really stands out when he has the puck. His puck skills are incredible, as is his hockey IQ."
- Protz, still speaking about Hage
It's interesting to see a new Canadiens acquisition talking about another new Canadiens acquisition in this way.
If we trust Owen Protz's comments (and several other experts), Kent Hughes made a good move with the acquisition of Michael Hage in the first round of the 2024 draft.
It's exciting.
And if we trust some of Owen Protz's opponents' comments, Kent Hughes acquired a very strong player with his 102nd overall pick in 2024.
Only time will tell, but for now, good acquisitions seem to have been made in Las Vegas.
