It seems clear that Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens are currently working very hard in the trade market.

They want to add reinforcements, both on offense and defense.

Elliotte Friedman confirmed it, Darren Dreger confirmed it, Frank Seravalli confirmed it, and even Pierre LeBrun confirmed it.

They all have sources stating that Kent Hughes is trying to complete a trade; however, few teams are willing to move impact players at this stage of the season.

Kent Hughes is aiming for a trade, but he has the opportunity to "easily" add solid reinforcements as early as tomorrow morning, if he wishes, by recalling a player from the Laval Rocket

The Canadiens' management seems almost desperately eager to help Martin St-Louis and strengthen his lineup.

Adding a good forward or a solid defenseman through a trade could help, but if the goal is truly to bring reinforcements, why not simply call up young talent from the Laval Rocket?

There are so many options.

If they're looking for a spark on offense, Joshua Roy has accumulated 10 points (7 goals) in his last 5 games in Laval. Alex Barre-Boulet has 8 points (2 goals) in just 5 games.

If they need reinforcement on defense, Logan Mailloux has simply outgrown the AHL, tallying 9 points in 9 games (3 goals) so far this season.

If they need goaltending support, Connor Hughes is off to a historic start with the Laval Rocket.

There are quick solutions available, which could be implemented as early as tomorrow morning if Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton truly want it.

And you, what would you do if it were your decision?
