It seems like he's starting to find his footing again this 2024-2025 season, and it's clear he's putting in the effort to improve.
The Canadiens practiced earlier today, live from Utah, in preparation for tomorrow night's game against André Tourigny's team.
However, practice ended a long time ago, and all the players had left quite a while back-except for one!
Juraj Slafkovsky took extra time on the ice today, voluntarily, to work on his game.
We love seeing this from a young player!
Check out the footage:
Slafkovsky, 20 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound forward from Kosice, Slovakia.
The Canadiens' first overall pick in 2022 has accumulated 83 points in 160 NHL career games, including 28 goals, along with 100 penalty minutes.
This season, Slafkovsky has 23 points in 39 games, including four goals, with 12 penalty minutes and a -10 rating.
He had a tougher start to the season, but recently he's been playing much better, and we love his commitment.
Today, in the beautiful city of Salt Lake City, it would have been easy for Slafkovsky to simply head back to the hotel and take it easy, but no, he stayed on the ice, worked hard, and I have a feeling it will show tomorrow, especially against a certain Logan Cooley (drafted right after Slafkovsky in 2022).
