The incident was reported by Réjean Tremblay and relayed by the website DansLesCoulisses, stating that Martin St-Louis' assistant coach, Trevor Letowski, had his laptop stolen.
A laptop theft that raises concerns for the Montreal Canadiens
This is precisely what Réjean Tremblay has shared.
According to his information, Trevor Letowski's laptop was stolen, and it could have serious consequences.
« The source, a police officer from the Montreal Police Department, is obviously a Canadiens fan. He doesn't want fraudsters or criminals to end up with the phone numbers, social insurance numbers, and all the other personal information of Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, David Savard, and the rest of the Canadiens players.
This is a rather troubling situation for the Canadiens organization. Martin St-Louis' assistant coach, Trevor Letowski, returned to work at the Bell Centre office. He left his laptop on the seat of his car parked on the street.
When he came back, the car window had been smashed, and the laptop was gone. A Canadiens employee called the police, and officers from Station 20 went to meet with Letowski.
At the station, the police quickly realized after interrogating Letowski that the content of the laptop was explosive if it fell into the wrong hands.»
- Réjean Tremblay This could potentially include very personal data related to players on the Montreal Canadiens.
It is essential to hope that this highly sensitive data does not end up in the wrong hands.
In his report, Tremblay also revealed that Letowski had left his laptop in his car before the holidays while visiting the Bell Centre, and the device was stolen.
In short, he does not provide further details about what might be on the laptop, but the police are involved.
Whether the data pertains to Martin St-Louis' strategies or valuable information about certain members of the organization, let's simply hope that this theft does not have serious consequences.
