The head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, gave a surprising response regarding defenseman Arber Xhekaj.

The day started with good news for «The Sheriff,» as he learned today that he'd be back in the lineup tomorrow night against the St. Louis Blues.

However, things took a turn during the press conference with head coach Martin St-Louis, who seems to have run out of patience on certain points.

See the report from HabsOnReddit.

«We've never heard coach Martin St-Louis speak as harshly and strictly about a Canadiens player in a press conference as he did about Arber Xhekaj today.»

Here's the clip:

Wow, that's quite the statement.

« Coach Marty says Arber Xhekaj will be back in the Habs lineup tomorrow. When asked what he expects out of him:

«I expect a better version Being staying alert, consistent.»

«You should be worried about making some mistakes. He's not a rookie anymore. So you should say: I gotta be better. Very simple. It's not like we nitpick everything he does. But he's gotta be better. I expect Xhekaj to be a better version.»

Let's just say Martin St-Louis has sent quite a message to his young defenseman Arber Xhekaj, and it's clear that «The Sheriff» won't have much leeway if he starts making mistakes.

This doesn't bode well for Arber Xhekaj's role with the Montreal Canadiens for the rest of the season unless, of course, he has a really strong game on Saturday.

More details to follow.
