We have a change to announce in goal for the Montreal Canadiens. Despite his outstanding performance on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils, young Jakub Dobes is sent to the end of the bench, and it will be Samuel Montembeault who starts tonight against the Winnipeg Jets.

Martin St-Louis just announced this in a press conference in the past few minutes.

It will be interesting to see how Sam bounces back, especially since he will have quite a challenge ahead of him.

The Winnipeg Jets currently hold the top spot in the overall standings of the National Hockey League, tied with the Washington Capitals.

They have a record of 34 wins, 14 losses, and 3 overtime losses, thanks in part to the brilliance of their star goalie Connor Hellebuyck.

At 23 years old, 6 feet 4 inches, and 215 pounds, Dobes has a record of 5-0-1 this season, with a goals-against average of 1.93 and a save percentage of 0.933.

At 28 years old, 6 feet 3 inches, and 218 pounds, Montembeault has a record of 17-17-3 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.99 and a save percentage of 0.899.

Would you have made the same decision?

Personally, I think alternating and giving each goalie a game makes perfect sense, at least until there is a more significant contrast between Montembeault's and Dobes' performances.

If it were your decision, which one would you have put in goal tonight?
