In the past few minutes, the Montreal Canadiens organization announced that Kaiden Guhle is injured.

The defenseman is considered «day-to-day» for now, due to an upper-body injury, but it's really starting to feel heavy with all this bad news early in the season.

Kaiden Guhle Is Injured

See the official statement from the organization.

Kaiden Guhle (upper-body injury, will be evaluated on a daily basis) and Mike Matheson (therapy day) will not participate in today's practice.

- Montreal Canadiens

Kaiden Guhle, 22 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 202-pound left-handed defenseman. He was the 16th overall pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 2020 (1st round) and has accumulated 44 points in 119 career games in the Bettman circuit.

This season, he has 4 points in 5 games, with a positive differential of +4.

He is certainly in the conversation for the most valuable player on the Canadiens in this early part of the 2024-2025 season.

Let's also remember that in addition to Guhle, Mike Matheson is also injured, as he did not finish Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

If we add Patrik Laine to the mix once again, one can only try to imagine what this team would be capable of if they could stay healthy.

This is definitely a situation to monitor, and if Guhle has to be out for a while, it would obviously be a significant loss for Martin St-Louis' squad.

Here's where Kaiden Guhle might have gotten injured, He got hit by Adrian Kempe to start the second period last night.

Details will follow.
