But who is Matteo Drobac?
We're talking about a goaltender who set a franchise record for the Bulldogs (OHL) for the most wins of all time within that organization.
The young player also seems to have a great attitude, as he said that while he's honored by the individual recognition and this record, what he truly wants is to win a championship.
It sounds a lot like a certain Jacob Fowler (of the Montreal Canadiens).
In any case, it's clear that the Canadiens like giving chances to young players with a winning attitude and a veteran mentality.
In fact, when he broke this (quite significant) record, Drobac didn't even know he was about to become the winningest goalie in Hamilton Bulldogs history.
Here's a young player who's clearly focused on winning his next game, rather than on his personal stats.
Drobac is not only the all-time leader for the Bulldogs in wins but also for the most shutouts.
An impressive resume for someone who was once the teammate of a certain Florian Xhekaj.
It's worth mentioning that in 2022, Drobac finished the season with a record of 19 wins and 2 losses, after an entire season on pause due to the pandemic.
In short, this young goaltender will be replacing Quentin Miller at the Montreal Canadiens' rookie camp.
We're excited to see him in action.
